Yesterday the challenge from Lilian of dVerse Poets Pub was to pen (or pencil in my case) a quadrille (44 words only) containing the word figment or one of its near derivatives.
Among examples she gave us of figments – featuring in films and fantastic fun – was this from Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens; 1835–1910): “Man- a figment of God’s imagination.“
Thank you Lilian for the playful invitation to the quadrille.
Figmentary an acrostic and quadrille Figment of Imagination - lest alone God's - your role of Man of my dreams Exists within my Nebulous (star-cloudinessed) Transient fantasies. Yet... once I asked you in incredulous awe: 'Are you really real?' and you Responded with a startled laugh: 'Probably not'; Yet... © Kathy Labrum McVittie 10 June 2024

Nicely done Q and acrostic, Kathy!

Thank you Dora. This limbered me up ready for your wonderful ‘liminal’ challenge the next day…

Oh I LOVE the ending of this!!! If you were sitting beside me, you would have heard and audible and loud “ohhhh” come out of my mouth when I read the ending! Love it!

And now an audible and loud “ohhh” has emerged from mine, Lillian, in response. Yet…

Yes, we’re all left wondering. And wondering how much it matters, figment or real. Well done.

And an hour passes, a day, a week, a year… and things move on and around.
I love your poem ‘Centering’! On a great, tidy, calm website, unlike my chaos. Thank you for calling by!

Haha! Who is going to point that out to Mark Twain? Anyway, I prefer “Experio, ergo sum”.
