Yesterday the challenge from Lilian of dVerse Poets Pub was to pen (or pencil in my case) a quadrille (44 words only) containing the word figment or one of its near derivatives.

Among examples she gave us of figments – featuring in films and fantastic fun – was this from Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens; 1835–1910): “Man- a figment of God’s imagination.

Thank you Lilian for the playful invitation to the quadrille.

			Figmentary

		an acrostic and quadrille

Figment of
Imagination - lest alone
God's - your role of
Man of my dreams
Exists within my
Nebulous (star-cloudinessed)
Transient fantasies. Yet... once I asked you in incredulous awe:
'Are you really real?' and you
Responded with a startled laugh: 'Probably not';
Yet...
