Towards the end of February 2024 a sequence of events led to me seeking attunement and accreditation to Level 2 with a Reiki master here in Cambridge, UK. This is as further training for my gentle practice Yellow Petal Touch and also to support my own embodiment and emotional healing journey.
That day, which started with me retracing my journey past Cambridge Science Park, closed (or should I say opened?) with an evening encounter on the dance floor with an acquaintance who is (in my dreams) becoming a more-than-friend.
Friday night dance-movement-meditation – already a life-saver for me – is becoming a necessity… and lent itself as my theme for a “Friday” quadrille (of exactly 44 words) as promptingly suggested by De Jackson aka WhimsyGizmo of dVerse.
Friday-twenty-third
Friday-twenty-third
a bird
sang in an apple tree
where I turned around
In my journey to learn Reiki
February-twenty-third
a word
(or maybe twenty-three)
and amber's profound
attunement energy
Friday twenty-third
absurd!
and with what intensity
I'm still running a-ground;
I've become thy refugee

The rhythm and rhyme of this are simply FANTASTIC.

Spring twirls on cat-sure feet. Love the forward and the poem. Best long-distance reiki vibes for this connection.

It may be beer to you but maybe not. I visualize Magners :)

Haha! So far I had seen not beer, but golden syrup and black treacle off the spoon of an over-giving mother. That came to me at a dance workshop on water, ten years ago… that’s thirty years after my mum’s death.
Now you come to mention it, the goddess Brighid (a “pal” of mine) has something to do with brewing and barley crops, so you have a fizzing insight here… Thanks!

Indeed it was utterly wonderful to dance that particular night, 23 February 2024, a date that is engraving itself in stars on my midnight skies… to be continued, I hope and trust…

Thank you dear Punam, it wrote itself as a sort of tuneless song, as I essayed to get a comfortable – yes – “lilt and lift”. Valuing your comments, as ever xxx

Those songs are best that write themselves. Alway a pleasure. ❤️

I enjoy poems that are based on reality but have a slightly surreal twist to them, Kathy, and your quadrille fits the bill! I also love that your Friday has a date – and the rhyming.
